We are hearing that yes we will some of the great jokes/lines from the ride i.e. "Backside of water" and that this will have direct tie-ins to the Disney Parks ride. The film is expected to land in theaters in July 2020, so next summer.

  • Time for our queen Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and stars Angelina Jolie, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Elle Fanning areon stage. Jolie had this to say in regards to what this film is about "We fight for the belief that what makes you different makes you stronger. And what defines family is what you believe in and how you love. It's not just blood. It's not just the same."

  • Soul is the first up for discussion and will be based on your essence + personality and involves Souls being trained a the You Seminar. The movie will be set in New York City and will have kinda a Jazz vibe to it with original jazz from Jon Batiste and an original score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. • Onward will be the second of two 2020 Pixar films released under new CCO Pete Doctor. Cast members Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss were on deck to talk about the movie and preview an 8-minute long clip to those lucky, lucky folks in hall D23. Additionally, Tom Holland had this to say regarding the Spider-Man/MCU divorce "It's been a crazy week, but I want you to know I am grateful from the bottom of my heart and I love you 3,000."

Walt Disney Animation Studios

  • First up from Jennifer Lee, CCO of Walt Disney Animation, is Raya and the Last Dragon, a film inspired by Southeast Asia. Taking place in the mythical land of Kumandra with 5 differing clans and Raya is the bad-ass Asian warrior. Voice cast will include Cassie Steele (Degrassi) as "Raya" and Awkwafina as Sisu the Dragon.

  • Frozen II time! New comers Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown were on hand. Wood will play the mother, Queen Iduna, of Elsa and Anna in flashback scenes while Brown will voice Lieutenant Matthias. Those in Hall D23 were shown two clips: First one featured Wood's character singing to the two young princesses; the second was between Lieutenant Matthias and Anna in what was described as a forbidden like forest. Sounds likes a few new songs were teased including the sequel to "Let It Go" titled "Into the Unknown" and a song sung by the whole cast titled "Some Things Never Change" which we hear will give Jonathan Groff a WHOLE verse to sing.

ANDDDD that is a wrap on the D23 Walt Disney Studios panel, there was A LOT but let us know what you are most looking forward to in the next few years.
