All the D23 Disney+ Panel Info

The D23 Disney+ panel just wrapped up and boy oh boy is there a lot to unpack here. But first a little refresher of the Disney+ basics shall we!

When: Disney+ will officially launch on November 12, 2019

Where: Online, app, and most streaming devices.

How Much: $6.99 a month/$69.99 a year BUT if you are a D23 member there is a special deal that will give you 3 YEARS of Disney+ for $140. See those details here!

Okay, let's get into what was announced!

First up, the Disney vault will be no more, as ALL of Disney's animated classics will be made available right out of the gate when the service launches. Plus expect to see ALL past DCOM's and full seasons of past Disney Channel shows. However, the panel focused on all the new, original content that is coming up.

TV Series

  • Lizzie McGuire sequel is confirmed with Hilary Duff reprising her role. Will center on her life in NYC as she turns 30.

  • Based off the snippet that was shown during the panel, we are hearing that High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will have a Freeform like vibe to it. (Side Note: Misti is VERY on the fence about this one). Check out the trailer below.

  • Kermit the Frog was on hand to kinda talk about Muppets Now BUT nothing was really detailed expect that its coming in 2020.

  • Diary of a Female President was announced and is based of the childhood of Exec. Producer Gina Rodriguez.

Animated Series/Movies

  • A new Phineas and Ferb movie titled Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe has been announced.

  • Toy Story 4's Forky is getting his own time in the spotlight with Forky Asks A Question which will be a series of Pixar shorts.

  • Monsters at Work will be a workplace comedy that is centered around the world of Monsters Inc and we hear will focus on the shift from being scary to funny. If this turns out to The Office meets Monsters Inc, it might be the best day day ever.


  • The World According To Jeff Goldblum sounds like it is going to have Parts Unknown vibes and will be available at launch on November 12th.

  • Encore! is Kristen Bell's reality show that she described as "adult, real life High School Musical".


  • First and foremost Avengers: Endgame will be available for streaming on December 11 for the handful of people who don't already own on digital and/or Blu-Ray.

  • Marvel's What If animated series will see a lot of the cast returning to voice their characters. What If will mark the first official MCU animated series and based of footage that was screened will see a zombie Captain America and Peggy as Captain Carter.

  • Loki series will be a total of 6-hours long and as announced at SDCC last month, will follow Loki after he took the tesseract in Avengers: Endgame.

  • The Falcon and Winter Soldier will see the return of Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and a new character by the name of John Walker (played by Wyatt Russell).

  • WandaVision is set to be part comedy - part sitcom (clips of The Dick Van Dyke show were shown)and part typical Marvel, which just sounds odd, not gonna lie.

  • Ms. Marvel (not to be confused with Captain Marvel) is coming to Disney+, making her the first Muslim character to be represented in the MCU.

  • Moon Knight and She Hulk are also coming to Disney+

Star Wars

  • Every SINGLE Star Wars movie and show will be available on Disney+ within a year.

  • New Episodes of Clone Wars will be coming to Disney+ in February 2020.

  • A Rogue One prequel series is in the works with stars Diego Luna and Alan Tude returning.

  • Scripts are done and production will begin on Obi Wan-Kenobi next year and yes, Ewan McGregor is reprising his role. [He got MASSIVE cheers when he walked on the stage]

  • The Mandelorian will debut at launch on November 12th and you can check out the trailer below.

Original Movies

  • Lady & The Tramp used actual real dogs. In fact, most of the dogs used for the movie would found in shelters and later adopted. Check out the trailer below.

  • Noelle will see Anna Kendrick as the daughter of Santa in this holiday film (Side Note: This movie was originally meant for theaters and went through a couple of title changes for the final product landed on Disney+). Check out the trailer below.
